Next to your photographer (wink, wink), choosing your wedding venue may be one of the most important decisions of the wedding planning process. And by important, I mean that it effects so many parts of the day! It’s important to consider both outdoor and indoor spaces (hello, rain plan!), whether or not you need to go off-site for photos (are there beautiful spaces to take portraits right on-site?), the vibe you want in your photos (dark and moody, light and clean?), and how you want you and your guests to feel.
Feeling overwhelmed by all the choices (or lack of) when it comes to deciding on a wedding venue? No worries! I’m here to help you with my favorite wedding venues located in southeast Wisconsin, along with a few reasons to consider depending on what matters most to you.
Ready? Let’s dive in!

A beautiful greenhouse event space that can feel like you’re bringing the outdoors inside. With so much natural light coming from all directions, your photos will feel light, clean, and consistent. Your color choices will really POP and you don’t have to worry about clashing with the venue, itself. In addition to the beautiful greenhouse space, you can also explore The Mitchell Park Domes for more photo opportunities. It can feel like you’re transported to another part of the country with tropical or desert-themed greenhouse spaces. An added bonus is that this venue would be beautiful any time of year, even when the greenery is lacking outdoors!
If natural light, lots of greenery, and a large guest count are high on your list, this may be the perfect venue for you!

Set right on Lake Michigan, Whistling Straights offers a rustic, elegant setting for a more intimate wedding. The chapel, itself, is absolutely gorgeous, with it’s large windows and scenic view in the background. And the reception feels like you’re being transported to Irish countryside.
If you’ve always dreamed of getting married in a white chapel, and if you can picture yourself running through the fields overlooking a lake, then this may be the venue you’ve been searching for!

The Carriage House at Lac La Belle is picture-perfect no matter where you turn! With plentiful, large windows and clean, white walls with industrial accents, this venue provides a beautiful blank canvas to make the subjects stand out in the photos. Set on a golf course, there are endless options for photo locations as well. This venue also offers a beautiful getting-ready space, so you won’t even have to go off-site if you don’t want to!
If elegance, clean + timeless photos, and a more relaxed day (i.e. not needing to go off-site) matters to you, you may want to check out the Carriage House!

Located right next to a large pond and in the middle of several acres of meadow, the Fête, (pronounced “fate”), is the perfect gathering place for large and small weddings alike! The grounds, themselves offer ample photo opportunities and a fun space for your guests to spread out and explore during a summer wedding. Inside, however, is just as beautiful. From clean, white spaces with large windows to wooden and black industrial touches, this space offers a beautiful blank canvas for whatever wedding colors you choose! With large getting ready spaces and plenty of room to spread out, you’ll be able to settle in for the day here and not have to worry about traveling anywhere else for getting ready or portrait time.
If lots of space, indoor and outdoor options, and bright/clean photos matter most to you, the Fête should be at the top of your list!

I don’t think you would meet a vendor who would refuse to take on a wedding at this gorgeous art museum and wedding venue! Featuring multiple, unique rooms filled with art, a sophisticated courtyard, and a large patio in the back that overlooks Lake Michigan, with access to the gardens below. The photo opportunities are endless here. (I do recommend booking during the summer months for the best photos in the gardens). Not only will you have beautiful photos, but you and your guests will be transported to a whole experience of romance and elegance.
If you want to feel like you’ve been transported to a European country or like you’re living in a period film on your wedding day, The Villa Terrace could make your wedding dreams come true!

I MEAN, how stunning is this venue?! Although it’s technically closer to Minneapolis than Milwaukee, I would consider this venue worth the travel for sure. While still under construction, Woods & Co will feature an exposed cliff wall ceremony area, a beautifully bright and cozy indoor ceremony option, the glasshouse reception room, and an idyllic outdoor social space. What more could you ask for?
If you’re inspired by the outdoors and love natural light and modern elegance, let’s make your wedding dreams come true at this venue!
And that’s a wrap! Of course, there are SO many more venues I could name that I’ve shot at or would love to book, but for now these are my top choices for Best Milwaukee Wedding Venues 2024-2025
