About

Hi, I'm Kellyn! An iced coffee-sipping, adventure-seeking wife, mom, and photographer based in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

I married my best friend, Spencer, 3 years ago, and we recently became parents to the best little man, Liam. They mean the world to me and I thank God for the role I get to play in their lives as a wife and mom.  These roles have made me even more passionate about documenting your story in the best way possible, so you can look back on them and FEEL how it was to live in that moment.  Life moves fast, but memories are forever.

Your calm presence, creative director, and soon-to-be genuine friend.

A wedding is one of those mountain-top experiences and should be enjoyed and celebrated as such! But I'm just as excited for the "in-between" moments of your relationship, like when you have time to kill at Costco and turn it into a date, or when a long road trip creates an opportunity for deep conversations.  Your wedding day is only the beginning of so many adventures to come!
With my photography, I strive to document it all--from the timeless portraits that showcase the beauty of the day, to true "candids" that capture your relaxed and unique personality. I'm here for all of it!

I believe that your wedding day is simultaneously one of the best days of your lives and also just the beginning of all the adventures that await you in marriage.

for the laid back and in love

Became our phrase we said to each other while we were dating and throughout our engagement.

Sometimes Spencer and I said it to remind each other of the end goal: marrying each other. Other times we used it to help break the tension during a disagreement. Because of our faith, we would often substitute the phrase, "God's got this," for when we knew we couldn't move forward on our own. Our dating/engagement years were filled with ups and downs and we were no strangers to tough conversations. But those years of "doing hard things" truly prepared us for marriage...

"We got this."

Fast forward to our wedding day where we exchanged rings and made our commitment to one another. It was truly one of the best days of our lives because it represented us. An open-air chapel in the woods, live music performed by friends + family members, and serving our guests Qdoba + ice cream were some of the ways we incorporated our personal touch. The ring I gave to Spencer had engraved on the inside "we got this" as a constant reminder to us.

But our story didn't end there. We've enjoyed married life for over 3 years now and it's truly a gift. As Spencer would put it, you get to fall in love all over again with a new person because you're both growing and changing together. Every day is an adventure (especially now that we've become parents!). We still need that reminder at times.

And so I want to remind you as you're getting ready for your own marriage, that life keeps going after the wedding day. And it's beautiful. And it's worth it.

You got this.

From the beginning stages of working with me, my number-one goal is to get to know you.  With questionnaires, video calls, and sometimes Pinterest boards, I do my best to get a glimpse into who you are and how you want your session to feel.  While taking and delivering beautiful photos is the end result, I'm also energized by building relationships and documenting real interactions!

Whether you're here for your engagement photos, your wedding, or branding photos that feel true to you, I'm here to make sure you feel comfortable, relaxed, have a good time, and capture each unique detail of your story.

A personalized approach because every story is different.

She captured the pure joy we felt.

"Kellyn did the most amazing job with our recent wedding! She made us feel very comfortable throughout the whole process, and natural despite neither of us generally liking being the subject of the camera. The photos turned out amazing, and she captured the pure joy we felt. We cannot recommend her enough!"
